Lagos SWAN Mourns Former Ch
The Acting Chairman of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Lagos State Chapter, Aron Akerejola has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of former Chairman of the association, Mr Niyi Oyeleke, describing his death as a painful loss to the sports journalism community.
In a condolence message on behalf of the Lagos SWAN family, Aron Akerejola noted that the late Oyeleke was a committed professional whose contributions to sports journalism and the growth of the association remain invaluable.
The former chairman was a leader who dedicated his time and energy to strengthening the unity, credibility, and influence of Lagos SWAN within Nigeria’s sports ecosystem.
Mr Oyeleke’s tenure was marked by purposeful leadership, mentorship of younger sports writers, and an unwavering commitment to the ideals of responsible sports journalism.
On behalf of the Lagos Swan family, I extend my heartfelt condolences to the family of the late sports writer, praying that God grants them the strength to bear the loss and grants the departed soul eternal rest
The legacy of Mr Niyi Oyeleke will continue to live on through the many journalists he inspired and the lasting impact he made within the association.
