Ademola Lookman to Inter Milan ?

Italian giants Inter Milan are preparing an improved offer to sign Nigeria international Ademola Lookman from Atalanta, Bold Sports reports.

The Nerazzurri have already reached an agreement on personal terms with the African Footballer of the Year, and negotiations between the two clubs are expected to continue this week as they push to secure the forward’s signature ahead of the new Serie A season.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter’s latest offer involves a loan deal with an obligation to buy. However, Atalanta are holding out for a permanent move valued at €50m.

Transfer insider Alfredo Pedullà reported last week that a compromise could be found for €45m including add-ons, but Inter are yet to table an improved bid.

Despite earlier speculation about interest from Napoli, sources cited by Football Italia confirm the club’s most recent approach was made in June, with no contact since.

Lookman has been one of the standout performers in Italy over the past two seasons, including a historic UEFA Europa League final hat-trick to help Atalanta win their first ever European title in 2024.

The 27-year-old scored 17 goals and registered nine assists in all competitions last season, making him one of the most sought-after forwards in Europe.

If Inter are successful, Lookman will become the latest Nigerian to wear the club’s iconic shirt, following in the footsteps of Obafemi Martins, Nwankwo Kanu, and Taribo West.
