Since assuming office on 28th July 2025, Mayor Olalekan Olu Akindipe has ushered in a new era of purposeful, people-centred governance in Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government—an administration firmly aligned with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, where leadership is measured not by rhetoric, but by impact.
From the very first day, Mayor Akindipe made accessibility, empathy, and consultation the pillars of his leadership. In line with President Tinubu’s vision of responsive governance, his administration has remained open, inclusive, and deeply connected to the people.
Through sustained engagement with traditional rulers, community leaders, youth bodies, women associations, artisans, religious institutions, and civil stakeholders, policies and programmes are shaped by lived realities—not assumptions.
Consistent with the Renewed Hope mandate of infrastructure renewal, social investment, and economic revitalisation, the administration has delivered visible, life-improving interventions across Ajeromi-Ifelodun:
1. Strategic community infrastructure upgrades at Ashibejoye Street, Taiwo Street, and Ago-Hausa Street, enhanced with solar-powered street lighting to improve safety, extend commercial activity, and strengthen community security.
2. Critical power infrastructure support through the provision of 500KVA transformers to five underserved communities, restoring electricity supply, boosting small businesses, and improving quality of life—directly reflecting the Renewed Hope commitment to grassroots economic stimulation.
3. Environmental transformation through the deployment of Ajeromi-Ifelodun’s first-ever waste compactor, reinforcing a cleaner, healthier, and more dignified urban environment.
4. A first-of-its-kind ward-to-ward public health sensitisation and access programme, bringing preventive healthcare and essential information closer to residents.
5. Strong investment in education and human capital development, including over 500 GCE forms, scholarship opportunities, and ₦100,000 educational support for students, ensuring opportunity remains accessible to every child, regardless of background. Etc.
All interventions are guided by one unwavering principle: development without discrimination, progress without exclusion.
Youth, Women, and Inclusive Prosperity
Recognising Ajeromi-Ifelodun as a youth-driven constituency, Mayor Akindipe has prioritised youth empowerment through sports, recreation, and capacity-building initiatives such as the Sanwo-Olu Mock Nations Cup, Peace Cup, Summer Football Camp, and the Mayor Akindipe Indoor Board Games—platforms that promote unity, discipline, talent discovery, and social cohesion.
Women and vulnerable groups remain central to the administration’s agenda, reinforcing the Renewed Hope philosophy that development is only meaningful when it is inclusive and equitable.
Amid ongoing economic adjustments, Mayor Akindipe has demonstrated leadership with empathy—echoing President Tinubu’s resolve to cushion reform-driven pressures on citizens. Through the “Ounje Ajeromi” food support initiative, complemented by ₦20,000 cash assistance, the administration has reached over 10,000 households, delivering relief, dignity, and renewed confidence in governance.
Beyond administration, Mayor Akindipe has strategically positioned Ajeromi-Ifelodun within Lagos State’s political and cultural landscape. His active participation in major state engagements—most notably the recent Eyo Festival, where he mobilised residents across all nine wards—reflects a leader who understands the importance of visibility, alliances, and representation in advancing the collective interests of his people.
