In continuation of its mandate that is hinged on education, health and sport, the Nathaniel Idowu Foundation has moved ahead with another epochal programme for the girl-child themed ‘Let Her Play’.
The programme organised inconjunction with Ajeromi-Ifelodun Sports Council, is a 10-week event started Saturday, February 7, 2026, at the prestigious New Maracana stadium, Tolu, Ajegunle.
It was a fun-filled and joyful moment for the obviously happy girls, who were put through their paces on the basics of the game by the equally qualified and certified female football coaches.
Speaking on the event, one of the parents of the participants, Adekunle Raymond, described the football training programme as very good and important to help the young girls chart a career path towards a better life.
“I’m very grateful to the organisers, particularly, the sponsor of the event, the Nathaniel Idowu Foundation, for this opportunity given to our children,” he said.
The Director-General of Ajeromi-Ifelodun Sports Council, McAnthony Anaelechukwu, noted that he was impressed by the turnout of the young girls at the football event.
“Together with Nathaniel Idowu Foundation, we are set to change the narratives as it concerns the girl-child and the hitherto limited opportunities for them to develop and get a career for themselves as athletes or fooballers,” he remarked.
The 10-weeks programme continues next week Saturday, at the same venue.
