In a community where the strength of our young people continues to set the pace for progress, the 2025 Ajegunle Youth City Marathon stands out as more than a sporting event — it is a civic statement, a moral compass, and a collective march toward a drug-free future. And this year, leadership will not watch from afar; it will run alongside the people.
Today, the 10th of December 2025, our Executive Chairman, Hon. Olalekan Olu Akindipe, will participate in the VIP/VVIP Marathon, a symbolic run that begins at the Ifelodun LCDA Secretariat and finishes at the Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government Secretariat.
This route is no accident — it represents unity, continuity, and the shared destiny between sister local governments who understand that community development must be a collaborative journey, not a solitary stride.
The chairman will be joined by an impressive delegation of dignitaries whose presence reinforces the importance of this campaign, including:

Then, on Saturday the 13th of December 2025, the main marathon takes centre stage as thousands of young people pour onto the streets of Ajegunle — running with purpose, running with hope, running with the conviction that their dreams are valid and their destinies are worth safeguarding.
For Hon. Akindipe, this event aligns perfectly with his administration’s focus on youth engagement, public health advocacy, and the long-term rebuilding of community values. By participating personally, he sends a clear message: Leadership must not only speak light — it must walk in it, run in it, and lead others towards it.
