For me, it’s a good proposal if there is a political will.Though, some clubs have complained that it’s not achievable but I can tell you for free, this is a possibility if we can give it all it takes, there is nothing impossible in Nigeria ” He posited.

*2. Nathaniel Idowu Junior 7s 2026*
They will roll out the *Nathaniel Idowu Junior 7s 2026* — a 7-a-side league for secondary schools across Lagos State.
From *September to December 2026*, 24-32 schools will compete in knockout qualifiers. 12 schools will advance to an 11-week round-robin league every Friday at New Maracana.
With *over ₦2,500,000 in prize money* and free registration, the Junior 7s will become one of Lagos’ biggest school competitions.

Lagos football community is agog for the maiden edition of Tonic Cup, which is ostensibly aimed as a scouting tournament.

England’s dramatic 2-1 extra-time victory over Norway in the FIFA World Cup quarterfinal was one of those nights.

Before kickoff, the world’s attention centered on two of football’s greatest goalscorers—England captain Harry Kane and Norway’s prolific Erling Haaland. Between them they had scored 13 goals in the tournament and were widely expected to determine the outcome.

Neither did.

Instead, Jude Bellingham emerged as England’s unlikely hero, scoring twice as the Three Lions overturned an early deficit to reach the semifinals before 64,478 spectators at Miami Stadium.

Football once again ignored reputation and rewarded performance.

Stoic philosophy reminds us that we are judged not by what people expect of us, but by what we actually do. Reputation creates pressure. Performance creates history.

The tournament nevertheless demonstrated that African football is progressing. Teams displayed improved tactical awareness, technical ability and physical strength.
