Today we celebrate Rasheed Ahmed Ayinde — popularly known as Med Boi — on his new appointment as Lagos State Coordinator, THE BRIDGE FOR RENEWED HOPE. Appointment takes effect from 24th June, 2026.

This is not luck. This is the reward of consistency.

Mandate: Lead all state-level activities, mobilize local structures, serve as liaison between the National Office and Lagos stakeholders, and uphold the values of YOUTH. PURPOSE. NATION.

I spoke with Med Boi on this appointment and he was full of gratitude.

He appreciates H.E. Seyi Tinubu for the honour and the confidence reposed in him.

He also appreciates his political leaders and friends who have stood by him through it all. Loyalty, tested and true.

Med Boi, you don’t just collect titles. You carry responsibility. You turn setbacks into setups. You stayed ready, so you didn’t have to get ready.

When history calls for a strategist, the All Progressives Congress knows where to look. The party has once again entrusted its most critical battlefront to a tested General.

Hon. Fatai Adekunle Ayoola, the revered Bashorun, has been appointed Director General of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Dr. Kadiri Obafemi Hamzat Independent Campaign Group (PBAT-HAMZAT ICG) by the Lagos State Chapter of the APC.

I have followed this man for 10 years. In that decade, I have seen one constant: Bashorun Ayoola does not enter a battle he is not prepared to win.

As Executive Chairman of Ajeromi-Ifelodun LGA for 8 years, he redefined what grassroots governance should look like. Roads, schools, healthcare, youth empowerment — he built structures that outlived his tenure. The massive infrastructure Ajeromi-Ifelodun enjoys today is the foundation he laid. That is the Ayoola brand: build it right, build it to last.

Politically, he is a phenomenon. Since he became Chairman of Ajeromi-Ifelodun LGA, he has never lost an election. Not one. He engineered victories for the APC in the toughest terrain in Lagos. From councillorship to the House of Representatives seat, Bashorun delivered.

I remember the rerun election that produced Hon. Kolawole Taiwo as House of Reps member. While others saw impossibility, Bashorun saw strategy. He stood, he fought, and he delivered victory for the party. That is who he is — a Trojan who stands for the party in every season.

In 2023, he repeated the feat. When the APC needed Lagos to speak with one voice for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Bashorun Ayoola was at the forefront. Door to door. Street to street. Ward to ward. He mobilized, he organized, he delivered Lagos.

Today, the party has made no mistake. Appointing him DG of PBAT-HAMZAT ICG is appointing victory itself.

What does this mean for Lagos and Nigeria?
It means the independent campaign structure is now led by a man who understands three things: the grassroots, the numbers, and the mission.

He knows every street in Ajegunle, every ward in Lagos, and every voting bloc that matters. As for the numbers, he has a record of turning political strategy into electoral numbers.
The Mission is clear and simple, He is a Tinubu man through and through. PBAT’s victory is personal to him.

Bashorun Ayoola does not do half-measures. When he takes an assignment, he commits 100% of his intellect, network, and energy to it. That is why the APC is confident, and that is why Lagos and Nigeria are in safe hands.

To the opposition: A General has been appointed.
To the APC family: Victory has been organized.
To Lagosians and Nigerians: The man who delivered Ajeromi-Ifelodun, who delivered Lagos in 2023, is now saddled with delivering Nigeria again.

The reasons are not far-fetched. On Thursday at the Local Authority Primary School, Ago-Hausa in Ajegunle Apapa, headquarters of the Ajeromi Ifelodun Local Government, more than 3000 stakeholders from the constituency gathered to endorse President Bola Tinubu and Member of the House of Representatives representing the constituency, the Hon. Paul Adeboye Kalejaiye, PhD for re-election.

The stakeholders, according to inside sources, were drawn from key stakeholder groups within the party. Traditional rulers, artisans, community development associations, market leaders, National Youth Council of Nigeria, Berger Business Community, Arewa, Ndigbo, South-South are some of the groups that were well represented.

So also are party leaders, elected and appointed officials, party executives and members from across the 11 electoral wards. The House of Representatives primary election could be a formality.

Dictating proceedings, Bashorun Fatai Ayoola, the erstwhile Council Chairman of the Local Government stated that as humans, one cannot rule out shortcomings from people in positions of authority. He said whatever errors that have been noticed in the last three years shall be corrected when Hon. Kalejaiye is returned to the House.

He said this is the home state of the President and we should be at the forefront pushing for his support. He subsequently called for an endorsement of the President and lawmaker, a move that was unanimously affirmed with stakeholders raising their hands.

Former occupant of the Reps seat, Prince Taiwo Adenekan congratulated the incumbent, saying the crowd showed his wide acceptability by the people.

Prince Rabiu Oluwa, the Governor’s Advisory Council leader appealed for unity and commended the supporters for their exemplary conduct.

Speaking at the endorsement, the Hon. Kalejaiye said he had come to thank them for their support which propelled him to the seat for the first term and he was there to let them know that he wishes to be returned for the second.

He appreciated the massive turnout of leaders and followers and urged everyone to continue to mobilize ahead of the primary election.
