CHARTERED INSTITUTE OF ADMINISTRATION HOLDS 55TH INDUCTION AT CENTER FOR MANAGEMENT DEVELOMENT LAGOS.

Chartered institute of Administration, the apex professional body saddle with the responsibility to train and regulate the practice of Administration in Nigeria, had the 55th induction ceremony of her new members from all works of life and profession, at the Centre for management development shangisa, Lagos on the 28th of June 2025. The two days event had various cadre within the work-force itching to attain and become professional Administrators. The induction ceremony had in attendance the president of the chartered of administration, Adm Ugochukwu Azubuko FCIA, the vice president Adm Samuel olaoye Fcia, the immediate past president of the institute Adm Dr Festus Oshoba Fcia, who also gave the induction talk during ceremony, also in attendance from the council of the chartered institute of Administration were Adm Samson Olopade Fcia, the chairman membership and student affairs committee, Adm Prof. Noble oguguo Fcia, who is the chairman, Research and publication committee, who constituted the assembly of the induction, also present at the auspicious occasion were Adm stanly Ojuolape Fcia, the chairman college of fellows chartered institute of Administration, Adm Chief Anthony Eze Fcia council member, and Adm Dave Okagbue Fcia a council member who gave the vote of thanks at the induction ceremony.
The keynote address by the president of the institute Adm Azubuko laid emphases on members imbibing the art and attributes of genuine professionalism in all they do and they should be good ambassadors of the institute, in his keynote address the president asked members to be proactive and professionally inclined,
‘’ It is always important to remind ourselves that Chartered Institute of Administration is Chartered by Act No. 103 of 1992, now Cap C7 LFN 2004; and is empowered to regulate the training in, and practice of Administration within a professional framework throughout Nigeria.
Let me also inform you that the Institute runs several programmes throughout the year to update the knowledge and skills of members. These programmes include: Continuing Membership Education and Training workshops (also known as COMET workshop); Open Workshops; Annual Conferences for members; National Conference for members of the Institute and the general public alike; Symposia; Seminars; Public Lectures and several training courses. By these, the Institute does not only update the skills and knowledge of its members, but also regularly lends its voice to issues of national importance, especially as they concern the practice of Administration.
Similarly, the Institute has been contributing to human capital development by qualifying professionals in the field of Administration who today occupy strategic positions in public and private sectors of the Nigerian Economy, and in the diaspora.
Let me quickly seize this opportunity to invite you to the 4th All Administrators National Conference which has been scheduled to hold at Lagos Airport Hotel, Ikeja from 23rd to 24th October, 2025. The Chairman of the Conference Planning Committee will in the course of today’s programme, furnish you with further details in respect of the Conference which is a flagship event of the Institute.
Dear esteemed inductees, I encourage you all to take part in the programmes of the Institute, especially the Continuing Membership Education & Training Workshop popularly called COMET which is essentially for the purposes of updating the skills and knowledge of members in the field of Administration. The COMET workshop also forms part of the requirements for members desiring to upgrade their membership in the future; as well as those who may be desirous of serving in any of the Council Committees of the Institute.
Your membership of the Institute presents an opportunity to join credible network of competent Administrators. I therefore encourage you to join any of the District Societies nearest to you in order to benefit from the wealth of professional experience that members share amongst them.
As members, you would be required to subscribe and adhere strictly to the Institute’s code of ethics. As professionals, we are required to place public or employer’s interest above self interest in our respective places of employment. This has been a great challenge to our nation and many professionals have failed in this area.
Very often, we read and hear of professionals who have abused their offices and the confidence reposed in them. Suffice it to say that poor corporate governance and inefficient administrative processes and procedures are largely responsible for most of these unwholesome practices. Chartered Institute of Administration is passionate about checking this malaise and has continued to train and equip its members to perform credibly. I hereby encourage you to be good ambassadors of the Institute, in and out of your place of work.
We expect that your heart would be with the Institute and so demand that you remain loyal and committed to its course and vision. This means that you participate actively in the Institute’s activities and pay your annual subscription and other dues promptly and regularly.
Once again, I congratulate our dear inductees who are joining the league of professional Administrators today and I assure you that the Institute shall continually inspire you to aspire for the best in your careers and your life in general.

A total number of 233 new members were inducted comprising of
65 Fellows
92 Full Members and
66 new Associates .
And certificates was issued to all inductees.
In a farewell note by the president to the new inductees of chartered institute of administration Adm Azubuko attributed the growth of the institute to the wise and well tailored vision of the finding father of the institute, Adm prof, Akobundun Okoronkwo who is the registrar/ Chief Executive.
