Before this tournament, many doubted. The whispers were that this team might not have the firepower, might not have the rhythm. But three games in Angola have changed the story, none louder than the latest chapter: Nigeria’s men sweeping past Cameroon in a high-octane contest that ended 101–92, Nigeria won, and they won big.
It wasn’t perfect, Nigeria clearly took their foot off the gas late on, but the message was clear: this is a team growing in belief, game by game. Quarterfinals now await, and suddenly D’Tigers look like more than just dark horses.
Josh Okogie led the charge with 16 points, gliding past defenders and sinking shots with ease. Stan Okoye, the old guard, was just as ruthless, finishing with 15 points and reminding everyone why experience matters in tournaments like this. Caleb Agada added 14, throwing himself into both ends of the court, while Ike Nwamu’s 12 points gave Nigeria another reliable spark.
This victory means Nigeria are through to the quater-finals
