AJEROMI-IFELODUN SET FOR A DECEMBER OF TRANSFORMATION — AKINDIPE ADMINISTRATION UNVEILS MASSIVE INFRASTRUCTURAL & SOCIAL IMPACT PROJECTS
The Executive Chairman of Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government, Hon. Olalekan Olu Akindipe, has announced a robust lineup of people-focused projects scheduled to commence this December—reaffirming his administration’s unwavering commitment to raising the standard of living across all wards.
Speaking during the explosive and widely-followed “Talk Your Mind” interview with Oyetakin, the Chairman disclosed a series of landmark initiatives designed to strengthen healthcare, education, technology, and infrastructure within the local government.
AKERE PHC UPGRADE TO GENERAL HOSPITAL STANDARD
In a historic move, the administration will begin the comprehensive upgrade of Akere Primary Health Centre into a facility comparable to a full-fledged general hospital.
The upgrade includes modern architectural designs, enhanced structural facilities, advanced medical equipment, and expanded service capacity—ensuring residents have access to quality healthcare right within their community.
700-CAPACITY ICT HUB SET TO COMMENCE
To empower young people with digital skills that meet global standards, work will begin this December on a 700-seat ICT Hub—one of the largest in Lagos Mainland.
This project will serve as a technology incubator, training center, CBT centre and innovation space for students, entrepreneurs, and jobseekers in Aj.
MAJOR ROAD & DRAINAGE CONSTRUCTION SET TO BEGIN
The Chairman further announced the commencement of new roads, drainages, and solar-powered streetlight installations across key communities.
The following streets have been approved for immediate construction this December:
1. Oluwa Street
2. Yahya Crescent
3. Uweriro Street
These projects will improve mobility, reduce flooding, and enhance security for residents and businesses.
500 PREGNANT WOMEN TO BENEFIT FROM HEALTH INSURANCE SCHEME
In a bold step toward maternal health protection, 500 pregnant women will be enrolled in a new One-Year Health Insurance Scheme fully funded by the local government.
The insurance will cover all medical bills across the LG’s PHCs and approved general hospitals—ensuring no mother is denied quality care due to financial limitations.
FREE SCHOOL BUSES TO BEGIN JANUARY 2026
To support parents and strengthen educational access, Hon. Akindipe also announced the introduction of free school buses across all wards in the second term of the academic session, starting January 2026.
The buses will commute schoolchildren within their localities, ensuring safe, reliable, and affordable transportation.
