Six new scholarships for SOCA students. This is truly awesome.

ESTHER MOJIROLA ODOFIN FOUNDATION is an NGO based in Ibadan, Oyo State of Nigeria. A few days ago, the organisation comes from the blue and offers to fund the full scholarship of 6 lucky student/athletes in SOCA for the next year starting in September.

The students are immediately being selected based on the criteria of need, talent and character.

The scholarships cover all the requirements of the students for the entire year, and will be renewable annually until they graduate from the academy, provided they continue to do well in both their academics and sports, and remain of good conduct.

It is manna from heaven coming in the wake of last week’s good news of the success of 3 SOCA graduates in Indian Universities, and the institution of the ‘Elder Steve Rhodes scholarship’ for a deserving female student in SOCA by an anonymous donor.

When blessings drop from heaven, they come down in torrents!

Alabi Abdullah Boluwatife is a current student of SOCA. He is 12 years old and in JSS 2. He is an exceptionally gifted football player and above average in academics.
His father is a taxi driver and his mother a petty trader. The parents have outstanding bills to pay from the previous year and can no longer afford to pay for Alabi to continue his program in the academy. He is to be withdrawn.

Daniel Moses is 17, very average academically (that’s why he is still in SSS 2), but exceptionally gifted and multi-talented in football and athletics (sprints).
He has been till now sponsored by a good ‘Samaritan’ lady who can no longer meet up with the fees in addition to those of her biological children in higher institutions. She has informed SOCA that Daniel is to be withdrawn from school.

Now help comes from the most unexpected of places

Alabi and Daniel are two of the 6 (3 boys and 3 girls) with similar or worse conditions that have been specially identified and are being offered these new scholarships.
Their lives are about to change for good, for ever with this new and unsolicited ‘gift’ from heaven, courtesy of the ESTHER MOJIROLA ODOFIN FOUNDATION.

Surely, the Creator of the Universe is not yet done with SOCA.
