The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Katsina State Chapter, has entered into a strategic partnership with the Vice President of the Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON), Northwest Zone, Alhaji Aminu Ahmed Wali, to foster the growth and development of sports in the state.
The announcement was made by the Chairman of the Association, Malam Nasir Gide, during a courtesy visit by members of the association to the office of Alhaji Aminu Ahmed Wali, who also serves as the Chairman of AA Rahamawa Petroleum Limited,
In his remarks, Alhaji Aminu Ahmed Wali expressed his appreciation for the visit and underscored the crucial role of journalists in communicating key messages, raising awareness, and guiding young people away from social vices. He reaffirmed his commitment to collaborating with the association to advance sports in Katsina, while calling on stakeholders and philanthropists to contribute to youth development initiatives as a means of reducing the burden on government and shaping the leaders of tomorrow.
Speaking on behalf of the Association’s Chairman, the Secretary, Malam Aminu Musa Bukar, thanked Alhaji Aminu Wali for his warm reception and congratulated him on Katsina State’s U-17 football team’s recent triumph at the Moses Andishu North/West Zone Championship held in Kaduna.
He further assured that the Association will continue to extend its full support to sports initiatives across the state, adding: “We are committed to using our skills and expertise to strengthen collaborations that will enhance sports and youth development in Katsina State. Just as eminent personalities like Alhaji Aminu Ahmed Wali are doing, we shall continue to project positive stories capable of transforming the lives of our youths from negative tendencies to impactful and meaningful living, by the will of God,” he stated.
