The New Maracana Sports Complex, Tolu, Ajegunle, came alive once again on Tuesday as over 300 boys and girls lit up the arena with energy, passion and determination on the second day of the Nathaniel Idowu Summer Camp 1:0, a youth development initiative steadily becoming a breeding ground for future sporting champions.
From the opening whistle to the final drill, the atmosphere was electric as certified coaches put the youngsters through intensive sessions aimed at sharpening their technical abilities and instilling the values of teamwork, discipline and leadership.

The football arena was a beehive of activity as the campers mastered passing techniques, passing patterns, movement off the ball, tactical drills and team-building exercises. Every session reflected the coaches’ determination to build technically gifted players capable of competing at the highest level.
The basketball courts were equally vibrant, with participants receiving hands-on lessons in body guarding, half-court passing, court awareness, ball control and the exciting fundamentals of dunking. The young players responded brilliantly, displaying enthusiasm and a willingness to improve with every exercise.

Addressing the campers, the Director-General of Peakline Sports Worldwide Macanthony anilechukwu praised the participants for their discipline, commitment and eagerness to learn, urging them to remain focused throughout the four-week programme.

A goodwill message from the sponsor, Chief Nathaniel Idowu, was also delivered, with the renowned sports philanthropist reaffirming his unwavering commitment to discovering and developing young talents across the country. He encouraged the campers to seize the opportunity, work hard and uphold the values of discipline, dedication and respect.
As the sun set on another rewarding day, the Camp Commandant officially declared the day’s activities closed, commending both the coaches and participants for another successful outing.
With excitement already building, attention now shifts to Day Three, scheduled for Wednesday, August 5, 2026. Camp activities will commence promptly at 7:30 a.m., with another exciting round of football and basketball drills expected as the quest to mould tomorrow’s champions gathers even greater momentum.
