The Nathiel Idowu Summer Camp 1.0 has entered another exciting phase, with the second week of the youth development programme producing a vibrant mixture of football, basketball, learning, teamwork and unforgettable moments for the participating children.

With about 350 boys and girls drawn from Ikorodu, Ojo, Festac, Ikotun and the Ajegunle axis, the camp has continued to live up to its promise of creating a platform where young participants can develop their sporting abilities while building friendships, confidence and discipline.

The second week has been particularly bubbling, as the children have undergone intensive sessions covering various football tactics, techniques and basic rudiments of the game. Under the guidance of the different coaches handling the programme, participants have been exposed to drills designed to improve passing, movement, ball control, positioning, teamwork and understanding of the game.
The basketball section has equally provided plenty of action, with the young players being introduced to important fundamentals and practical routines aimed at improving their ball-handling, passing, movement and overall understanding of basketball.

Beyond the technical sessions, the atmosphere around the camp has been one of excitement and healthy competition. The children have continued to demonstrate enthusiasm, grit and determination, eagerly embracing each new challenge thrown at them by their coaches.
The diversity of the participants has also added a special dimension to the programme. Children from different parts of Lagos have come together under one sporting umbrella, creating new friendships and strengthening the spirit of unity that youth sports can provide.

The coaches have played a major role in maintaining the energy of the camp, combining technical instruction with encouragement, discipline and teamwork. Their efforts have ensured that the participants are not merely learning how to play football and basketball, but are also being exposed to values that can shape them beyond the sporting arena.
As the camp takes a short break today, anticipation is already building for what promises to be another thrilling period.

The Nathiel Idowu Summer Camp 1.0 will resume on Monday, August 17, 2026, with more drills, more learning, more competition and, undoubtedly, more excitement.

For the 350 young participants, the journey is far from over. The second week may be closing, but the biggest lessons, challenges and sporting memories of the camp are still ahead.
At the Nathiel Idowu Summer Camp 1.0, the future is not just being watched—it is being trained, nurtured and given room to shine.
