The maiden edition of the Nathaniel Idowu Summer Camp 1.0 came to a thrilling and memorable conclusion today, bringing weeks of sporting fun, learning and excitement to a fitting climax.
The closing ceremony attracted about 500 young participants drawn from Ajegunle, Ikorodu, Badagry and Apapa, while three leading Lagos academiesβPaddisco Academy of Festac Town, Bright Star Academy of Satellite Town and Pegasus Academy of Obadoreβalso added colour and quality to the grand finale.
The camp featured exciting games across various age categories, including Under-10 boys, Under-13 boys and girls, as well as Under-15 participants. The young athletes thrilled parents and spectators as they demonstrated the skills, discipline and confidence acquired throughout the camp.
The closing ceremony was performed by Chief Yemi Idowu, sponsor of the camp, who reaffirmed the commitment of the Nathaniel Idowu Foundation to the continued development of young people through sports and similar initiatives.
Over 190 parents were present to watch their children showcase their talents. In a heartwarming gesture, Chief Idowu rewarded each participant with β¦1,500 for logistics and presented β¦5,000 to each parent in appreciation of their support.
Participants and parents expressed deep gratitude to the Foundation for the life-changing opportunity.
The camp may have ended, but the lessons, friendships and sporting values learned will continue to shape these young athletes into better-prepared individuals for the future.
