Renowned sports administrator and former Chairperson of the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL), Aisha Falode, has showered immense praise on the Executive Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission, Hon. Amadin Desmond Enabulele, alongside key stakeholder Jarret , Chairman of Insurance of Benin , following Edo Queens’ spectacular triumph at the recently concluded 2026 NWFL Premiership Super Six tournament.
Edo Queens officially reclaimed their status as the queens of domestic football on Sunday in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Despite a rocky start to their campaign with an opening-day defeat to Nasarawa Amazons, the Benin-based side staged a ferocious comeback—thrashing FC Robo Queens 4-1, Abia Angels 6-2, and edging Rivers Angels 2-1. A masterfully disciplined 0-0 draw against defending champions Bayelsa Queens in the final match secured them the title with 10 points, marking their second historic league crown in three seasons.
Reacting to the monumental victory, Falode described the feat as a direct reflection of visionary leadership, tactical discipline, and unshakeable institutional support. She specifically isolated the roles played by Hon. Enabulele and Jarret in keeping the team motivated and structurally sound throughout the high-pressure tournament.
