    Building a Culture of Community Football Club Ownership in Nigeria: Badagry 2026 Conference

    The Community Football Foundation (CFF) proudly presents the Football in the Community Conference – Badagry 2026, a landmark gathering dedicated to reshaping the future of Nigerian football through community-driven ownership. With the theme “Building Community Football Clubs Ownership Culture in Nigeria,” this event will convene thought leaders, football stakeholders, and community advocates to chart a new path for sustainable club development.

    The conference features dynamic sessions led by distinguished voices in football and business. Austin Popo, Nigeria ex-international and founder of CFF, will explore global perspectives on community-owned clubs. Nelson Ine, Executive Director at GTI Asset Management, will unpack the business of fan membership, marketing, and sponsorship. Prince Seyon Adeyemi Akran, President of Badagry United FC, will share the pioneering journey of BUFC, while Hon. Babatunde Hunpe, Chairman of Badagry LGA, will highlight how football can transform communities and mindsets.

    Panelists include DCG Jibo Bello (Rtd), Director BUFC, and Hadji Gafar Liammed, Chairman Lagos State FA. The event will be graced by Chief Host Hon. Rauf Ibrahim Kayode Yemaren, Chairman Badagry West LCDA, Chairman Alh Mubashiru Adetona, Royal Father His Majesty Oba Oyekan Adekanmi Ilufemiloye Possi III of Apa Kingdom, and Special Guest CAC AS Kaila of Seme Area Command. Moderator Princwill Oviesan Gbogbodu will guide the discussions.
