The Nathaniel Idowu Foundation has taken another significant step towards strengthening grassroots football in Ajegunle and its environs with a first-aid management training programme for officials of participating teams ahead of the maiden Unity Cup, scheduled to kick off on October 1, 2026.

The initiative, organised in partnership with Peakline Sports Worldwide, provided team officials with basic knowledge on first-aid response and appropriate management of players who may require immediate attention during matches. Certificates were presented to participants after the training.
In another gesture of support, footballs and training bibs were distributed to the participating teams to assist their preparations for the competition.
Speaking during the programme, Lagos State Football Association Vice Chairman, Dotun Coker, charged all teams to embrace discipline, sportsmanship and fair play throughout the competition. Coker stressed that misbehaviour would not be tolerated, urging officials and players to respect match officials, opponents and the rules of the game.
His message reinforced the Foundation’s vision of using football not only as entertainment but as a structured platform for youth development, discipline and community engagement.
The Director-General of Peakline Sports Worldwide also thanked all participating teams for their commitment and urged officials to ensure that proper documentation of their players is completed before the competition begins.
