The countdown is on for the Nathaniel Idowu U-16 Football League 2026, which kicks off on Saturday, September 5, with 10 promising teams set to battle for glory and a chance to showcase the future of grassroots football.

The league will feature St. Petersburg FA, Fortune FA, Seraphic FA, Bright Star FA, Moore Wins Foundation FA, SC Heritage, Young Eleven FA, Ajegunle United SC, Atico Football Academy and Divinely Blessed FA.
Matches will be played across the New Maracana Sports Complex, Tolu, and the Nathaniel Idowu Football Pitch, Oregie, with five games scheduled every matchday.
The opening fixtures will see St. Petersburg FA take on Fortune FA, while Seraphic FA face Bright Star FA and Moore Wins Foundation FA battle SC Heritage. At Oregie, Young Eleven FA confront Ajegunle United SC, while Atico Football Academy meet Divinely Blessed FA.
Beyond the race for points and honours, the league provides a major development platform for the young players, offering regular competitive football, talent discovery and an opportunity to attract the attention of coaches, academies and scouts.
With the competition running until October 31, the Nathaniel Idowu U-16 League promises to be more than a tournamentβit is a pathway designed to nurture the next generation of footballers and potentially launch some of these young talents towards professional careers.
All participating teams are expected to arrive at their match venues at least 45 minutes before kick-off.
